Explore beautiful Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada! In the Explore program, international and French-Canadian bursary students come together to study general English communication and experience Western Canadian culture. Participants will take up to 5 hours of class a day Monday through Friday with a focus on real-world English. Participants will also do a variety of on-campus and off-campus activities with Cultural Assistants, who are University of Regina students. The University of Regina is located in the capital city of the Saskatchewan province. The "Queen City," as it is nicknamed, boasts innovative urban landscaping, with abundant green spaces and areas for outdoor recreation including hiking and cycling along the pristine Wascana Lake surrounding park in the city center. It is a prairie oasis with cool, dry weather and snowy winters. UofR also hosts many cultural events each year, especially in the performing arts, and is home to several notable museums, galleries and theaters.
University of Regina's ten academic faculties have earned a reputation for excellence and innovative programs, and the University is a leader in research and experiential learning. U of R's main campus is located in the beautiful Wascana Centre, one of the largest urban parks in North America. UMAP exchange students immerse themselves in Canadian Culture by taking university classes with local students. The university has an active student body, and exchange students can participate in sports teams and cultural events.

In this virtual English Language and Culture program, participants will both practice English communication and have a virtual experience of Canada, Saskatchewan, Regina and the University of Regina. Participants will engage in a variety of activities and sessions, including live classes with an instructor, interactive asynchronous assignments and activities, and live conversation and culture sessions with University of Regina students. Applicants can also add a virtual local contact, a one-on-one conversation partner.
