Programs

Program A is an exchange program through which UMAP participating institutions send and receive up to two students with tuition waivers each semester.

Program B is a negotiated bilateral exchange between two institutions that have agreed to exchange more than two students per semester.

Programs A and B follow a timeline that has two application cycles. Programs that are open for application only during the early or First application cycle are marked with .

Programs that are open for application only during the late or Second application cycle are marked with .

Programs that are open for application during both early/late or First and Second application cycles are marked with .

Program C consists of short-term programs of one to eight-weeks, for which tuition may be charged.

Virtual Programs are offered entirely online and may include both short-term and semester-long programs.

Academic Mobility at Universidad Autonoma de Occidente – Spring 2027

Universidad Autonoma de Occidente welcomes UMAP students to Cali, Colombia, for a one-semester academic exchange during Spring 2027. Students can take courses in a wide range of academic areas, including Engineering, Business, Law, Communication, Architecture and Design, Humanities and Arts, Psychology, Computing, Environmental Studies and other disciplines, subject to course availability, prerequisites and academic approval. Exchange students become part of UAO's vibrant university community and have access to academic resources, laboratories, library services, student wellbeing, sports, cultural activities and international student support. Applicants must be active students at their home institution, have completed at least three semesters, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 5.0 or equivalent, receive official nomination from their home institution and obtain prior approval for the courses they intend to transfer or recognize. Program A students receive a full tuition waiver. Students are responsible for their personal expenses, accommodation, transportation, international health insurance, immigration requirements when applicable, and the Procultura Stamp Tax. Virtual Academic Exchange – Spring 2027 | Universidad Autonoma de Occidente

Universidad Autonoma de Occidente (UAO), located in Cali, Colombia, invites international students from UMAP member institutions to participate in its Virtual Academic Exchange Program for Spring 2027. Students may enroll in up to two virtual undergraduate courses, equivalent to a maximum of 6 Colombian academic credits. Each course is generally worth 3 academic credits. Available courses are offered in Spanish in areas such as Business, Communication, Computer and Information Systems, and Engineering. Course availability is subject to academic scheduling, prerequisites, available seats, and approval by the corresponding academic program. Students remain enrolled at their home institution while participating virtually at UAO and should obtain prior academic approval for the recognition or transfer of the selected courses. The program provides access to UAO's virtual learning environment, digital academic resources, faculty interaction, and international student support. Tuition is waived for eligible exchange students.
