| Program Description | Discover Ilocandia is a 20-day virtual cultural immersion program designed especially for international students who wish to explore the unique traditions, values, and way of life in Ilocandia—the northern cultural region of the Philippines encompassing Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and parts of La Union. Spanning one hour per day, this interactive program offers students a dynamic blend of live presentations, heritage showcases, virtual tours, and creative workshops. Each day introduces a specific theme—from Ilocano language and weaving traditions to local cuisine, music, and community values. Participants will not only learn about the Ilocano people's resilience, simplicity, and rich heritage, but also reflect on and share their own cultures through guided cross-cultural dialogues. The program highlights the spirit of cultural exchange, encouraging participants to find similarities and celebrate differences across global traditions. International students are invited to interact with local Ilocano youth, contribute to creative outputs, and showcase their reflections in a culminating global cultural showcase. | |
